Course Description:
This course focuses on working with IMS data in a batch environment. We'll build FLEX commands and JCL for each user via the ISPF models, which are selected from a user interface. You will learn the basics of ISPF models; how to extract, modify, delete and count segments; and run and print reports. We'll conduct hands-on workshops to reinforce the information presented. Topics include: build cross references, ISPF models, modify records (change, insert and delete), EXTRACT field level (e.g., segment concatenated keys, segments and fields within single or multiple segments), count segments and printing (e.g., COBOL layouts, graphic display, individual fields and counts).
