The OptimalJ Architecture Edition hands-on training focuses on using OptimalJ Architecture Edition features to solve application development architectural issues. In Part II, you will learn how to create and distribute Technology Patterns. You will also be trained to extend the OptimalJ Metamodel or to create your own Metamodels. This course uses a series of examples and exercises to help you build Technology Patterns and Metamodels and apply advanced OptimalJ Architecture Edition functionality.

Audience:
J2EE application architects, Java designers and developers who have a good understanding of the J2EE architecture and are tasked with creating reusable Technology Patterns as well as Metamodels for OptimalJ application development.

Prerequisites:
Knowledge of OptimalJ Professional Edition (OptimalJ Foundation training or practical experience using OptimalJ for application development) as well as the following:
- OptimalJ AE Training (Part I)
- Java language and familiarity with JavaDoc
- Object-oriented design patterns and UML
- Model Driven Architecture.
Objective:
Upon completion of the course, you should be able to:
- explain the MDA concept of transformation (definition and operation) in the context of Technology Patterns
- explain how OptimalJ Architecture Edition technologies support the transformation of models in general and from PIM to PSM in particular
- build Technology Patterns and define new model types
- test, debug and extend Technology Patterns and model types
- explain how and where to apply OptimalJ Technology Patterns and metamodeling for solving problems in your own projects.
