Course Description:
You will learn data manipulating functions such as the complex data translator to translate one or more fields based on a lookup translate table. Data analysis to report on invalid data, conversion of European currency and manipulation of data fields are also covered. You will learn how to create test files using arithmetic operations to alter copied fields or data generation, which allows you to generate field values in a record by the following methods: sequence/random, pattern masking or by values of fields in another file.
You will also understand how to protect sensitive data through encryption translation. The course covers holiday logic and business calendar rules in data aging functions, such as automating sequential random field values, performing arithmetic operations on existing fields and others. Complex data structures involving File-AID for IMS extracts and File-AID/RDX, or File-AID for DB2 extracts that may be processed with File-AID/Data Solutions, are included. In addition, we'll discuss, where appropriate, how to customize File-AID/Data Solutions to work with unique data structures.
