Take part in the OptimalJ University Program
As part of a leading-edge educational institution, you have the opportunity to share with students just how quick and easy high-quality J2EE development can be. Complimentary Product Training
One individual from a university or college is designated as the OptimalJ Technical Champion for the institution. Compuware will provide no-cost OptimalJ training to the OptimalJ Technical Champion, primary contact and faculty members who will use OptimalJ in their classrooms. As a prerequisite to the free training, university faculty are expected to complete the OptimalJ introductory tutorial (computer-based training) course on JavaCentral to familiarize themselves with the product.
The online introductory tutorial also serves as the primary training offered to students by Compuware. Additional training is to be provided by university faculty members. Compuware will provide course aids for use in the classroom, should the instructor desire.

Customer Support Services
Access to customer support will be limited to 3 named facility members during the course period who fill one of the following roles in the program:
Each school designates a primary contact as a liaison to work with Compuware. This person is responsible for communicating any technical issues received from students and other faculty members and receives complimentary technical support.
Each school also designates an OptimalJ Technical Champion to act as the main technical expert on OptimalJ between Compuware and the university. If a customer support need arises from faculty and students or software problems are identified, the Technical Champion will be able to access Compuware's customer support applications. Together, the primary university contact and the university OptimalJ Technical Champion will coordinate customer support issues.
The universtiy representatives responsible for installing software on classroom and laboratory systems can also receive customer support on issues related to installing OptimalJ.
Any customer support issues should first be directed to the course instructor who can then forward them to the university OptimalJ Technical Champion or the primary university contact for resolution. Students will not be provided access to FrontLine or the Worldwide Telephone Support Service. A clear statement of the limited support will be included in the licensing document.
Student Self Support
Students participating in the OptimalJ University program should have access to JavaCentral where they can gather specific information on the program, use the JavaCentral forums and other applicable features. JavaCentral, a Compuware-sponsored Java community, provides unlimited access to white papers, technical articles, and forums to share design and development strategies with professionals around the world.
JavaCentral is the support system available to students for product usage information. Students should direct any technical support issues to their instructors who, in turn, will forward concerns to either the OptimalJ Technical Champion or primary contact for resolution.
Membership is required to access the forums, online tutorials and various other features, please register to become a JavaCentral member.
Compuware Internship Program
University program members are encouraged to recommend their top student candidates to apply for positions in the Compuware Internship Program which is managed at Corporate Headquarters in Detroit, Michigan.
