Strategic Partners

BEA Systems

Compuware and BEA have collaborated to deliver enhancements to OptimalJ that generate business components as Java Controls in BEA WebLogic Workshop. This extends the library of business functionality for WebLogic Workshop developers using assets and architecturally proven design practices from OptimalJ. This results in model-driven J2EE application assets that can be shared among a broader Workshop development community within the enterprise.

Compuware and BEA provide customers with a comprehensive architecture and a complementary set of tools and services to develop, integrate, test, deploy and manage enterprise-class J2EE applications. Compuware OptimalJ and BEA WebLogic Workshop provide the tools needed by enterprise architects as well as corporate developers of varying skills levels to build standards based enterprise class J2EE applications.

These complementary approaches - specifically, OptimalJ's model-driven, pattern-based approach and WebLogic Workshop's visual development, event-driven capabilities - both accelerate the drive to service oriented development through dramatically improved developer productivity and increased acceptance of Java through successful deployment of enterprise class J2EE applications.

As a BEA Premier Partner, Compuware is committed to supporting those organizations developing with BEA technologies. Our solutions encompass development and integration, automated software quality, production readiness and performance and availability management solutions.

As part of this commitment, Compuware will focus its efforts on application life cycle integration and tool interoperability and dedicate resources to the Eclipse Application Lifecycle Framework (ALF) project. Compuware’s move sends a strong signal of support to the initiative aimed at making life cycle integration a key part of Eclipse’s future. By creating an industry standard for tool interoperability, Compuware seeks to help customers cost-effectively improve the delivery of applications across the life cycle. TriReme International Limited

TriReme can provide to Compuware and Compuware's clients:

  • Expert speakers for Compuware seminars and promotions.
  • A reasonable amount of support to Compuware's pre-sales efforts in MDA and related areas.
  • Consultancy and Training in Modeling, OOAD, CBD, SOA, MDA, Requirements, Process, Architecture.

Many of our clients either do J2EE or are moving in that direction. We see OptimalJ as a powerful tool for de-skilling J2EE implementations - the 80% of the work that it automates - particularly the infrastructure side - is the part that many Java developers trip on. This allows them to concentrate on application logic, which they are good at.

As TriReme is a company based on modeling know-how, we see MDA and OptimalJ as the tooling, which can deliver on the promise that higher levels of abstraction will give you much more productivity and reuse.

We are impressed by Compuware's commitment in the MDA space, and see association with Compuware as being of long-term strategic importance. Compuware and TriReme are not competing and have highly complimentary offerings.
