Technical Notes

Compuware Program Analyzer and DevEnterprise cannot exist on the same machine.

A Google Chrome security update prohibits viewing of WebHelp when the help is deployed locally from a file server (as opposed to a Web server). Attempting to view locally deployed help displays a blank help window. Compuware suggests that online help be viewed using Internet Explorer. Alternatively, Chrome's security feature can be turned off by launching Chrome with the command line option --allow-file-access-from-files. This method should only be used when opening local WebHelp that you trust.

During mainframe installation of Compuware Program Analyzer, the Customization Manager CLIST $XASETUP must now be executed from the SLXWINST install dataset, which was created during SMP/E installation. Do not execute $XASETUP from the INSTALL dataset as was done in the past. Refer to Chapter 5 of the Compuware Program Analyzer Mainframe Installation Guide for detailed instructions.

If you encounter a problem opening a PDF, you may be using an unsupported version of the Adobe Reader. Access the Adobe website and download the most current version.

A Microsoft security update (#896358) prohibits the viewing of compiled HTML help files (those with a .CHM file extension) across a network drive, including from the installation browser. Attempting to do so leads to an “Action Cancelled” or similar message. Microsoft issued a workaround that allows all .CHM help files to be viewable (see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896054/). Alternatively, you can copy the .CHM file(s) to a local drive. However, the copied help will not launch from within the product (for example, from the Help menu or the Help button on dialog boxes) so you would need to launch the files from your local drive.

Known Issues

This section describes known issues related to the current release of Compuware Program Analyzer.

Executing Customization Manager for Non-SMS Sites

Customers with non-SMS managed environment will need to manually add UNIT and VOLUME parameters. To do this, edit SLXWINST member IMC0COPY and add UNIT(YourUnit) VOLUME(YourVolume) on the ALLOCATE DA statement below:

ALLOCATE DA('&TODSN') NEW SPACE(&PRIME,&SEC) +

BLOCK(&SYSBLKSTRK) +

RECFM(&RECFM2) +

LRECL(&LRECL) +

BLKSIZE(&BLKSIZE) +

LIKE('&FROMDSN') CATALOG

E37 Error While Executing Customization Manager

If your site gets an E37 error running ‘<Your SMP/E HLQ>.SLXWINST($XASETUP)’ and will need a way to enter a space parameter from within the CLIST, do the following:

1. Edit member SETUP in the SLXWINST PDS and, on line 42, replace:

IMC0COPY FROMDSN(&FROMINST) TODSN(&TOINST) +

RECFM(&STR(&FB)) LRECL(80) BLKSIZE(6160) ALTLIB(&ALTLIB)

with:

IMC0COPY FROMDSN(&FROMINST) TODSN(&TOINST) +

RECFM(&STR(&FB)) LRECL(80) BLKSIZE(6160) +

PRIME(20) SEC(10) ALTLIB(&ALTLIB)

(where 20 and 10 represent primary and secondary space requirements)

2. Run ‘<Your SMP/E HLQ>.SLXWINST($XASETUP).
