Obtaining the Latest Release Notes

If you accessed this document from a product CD, you may not be reading the latest Release Notes. For the most recent information, go to FrontLine , Compuware's technical support Web site. The first time you access FrontLine, you are required to register and obtain a password. After logging onto FrontLine, select your product from the drop-down list. On the product page, click the Documentation link below the product name. The latest Release Notes document is listed with the other product documentation.


What’s New in ECC Release 3.3
November 11, 2014

Enterprise Common Components (ECC) 3.3 incorporates the following components:

Host Communications Interface (HCI) 3.0

Compuware Shared Services (CSS) 9.0

License Management System (LMS) 4.0

Compuware Installer 5.0

Compuware Installer 5.0

Inclusion of the Compuware Installer documentation in the ECC suite of products. The Compuware Installer is used to facilitate the SMP/E installation of Compuware mainframe products.

PDF and PDX Files

View and print the PDF files with Adobe Reader version 6.0 or more current. Download a free copy of the reader from Adobe’s Web site, http://www.adobe.com .

Note: With a few minor exceptions, the provided PDF files comply with the requirements of section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

The PDX file allows you to quickly search all of the manuals in the documentation set at one time. Click the Enterprise Common Components PDF Index File link to launch Adobe Reader and load the file. See the Reader’s Help for more information.

Note: In some environments, the link results in a blank browser page. Instead of using the link, start Adobe Reader and open file <Your PDX file name>.

Provide your user groups with access to the documentation by copying the appropriate files from the installation disk to a shared location on your network.

1. On the Setup screen, click the Explore this CD link located at the bottom of the screen.

2. Double-click the cpwr directory.

3. Copy the entire doc folder to a shared location on your network.

4. For easy access, instruct your users to bookmark the doclist.htm file which is located inside the doc folder. It presents a list of links to the manuals in the documentation set.

Access these formats on FrontLine, Compuware’s Customer Support Web site, http://frontline.compuware.com .

1. Log-in.

2. Select the product.

3. Click the Documentation link on the left side of the screen.

4. Select the release. FrontLine presents a documentation index containing links to all of the available formats for each of the product’s manuals.

HTML Files

View HTML files with any standard Web browser. Simply click the icon shown in the HTML column on the selected FrontLine Documentation page.
