XaTester by Compuware is an advanced and flexible tool for writing and executing automated unit and integration tests of programs on a mainframe or IBMi.

With XaTester you can test programs both on-line and batch written in COBOL, PL/I, EGL, RPG and Assembler. It provides advanced features such as virtualization of sub programs, automated execution of tests through scheduling or integration with external build system and generation of web-based user interfaces for easy manual testing. You can even use user interface-based test automation systems to drive the execution of your backend unit tests.

What’s New

The following enhancements have been introduced to the initial XaTester by Compuware Release 4.0.1:

  XaTester has been rebranded as XaTester by Compuware.

  XaTester Eclipse client is now also part of the Topaz Workbench installation. Follow the instructions in the Topaz Workbench Installation and Configuration Guide to install XaTester Eclipse client.

  It’s now possible to use HTTPS on a standalone server.

  Login dialog size in Eclipse increased.

  IBM i: Adds main load library to the library list command when executing an IBM i test case.
